Republic of Indonesia is a State of Law based on Pancasila and 1945 Constitution, and therefore every person without distinction of belief, religion, tribe, nation, group and statutes shall and uphold the law for the sake of justice and honesty for everyone to protect and maintain human rights in accordance with the dignity and prestige. 

The free and independent judiciary requires an independent and responsible Advocate profession to responsible for an authoritative judiciary that becomes the last fortress in upholding truth and justice. 

Advocate Profession is a Law Enforcement Official under the Fourth Amendment of the 1945 Constitution is one of the elements within the framework of a free and independent judicial power and has the same position as other law enforcers shall assume duties and responsibilities to serve, defend and enforce the law in order to achieve legal certainty which reflects the noble values ​​of life in the conscience as well as the legal consciousness of society. 

The Indonesian Advocates Association or Ikatan Advokat Indonesia (IKADIN) was established on November 10, 1985 in the Indonesian National Consultative Assembly in Jakarta based on Pancasila as an ideological foundation and based on the 1945 Constitution as the constitutional foundation. 

IKADIN is a Professional and Struggle Organization, independent and responsible for and carrying out the noble mission of Advocates, to participate in developing the Republic of Indonesia legal state as well as to develop profession of advocates with integrity and professionality. 

IKADIN is struggling based on the motto "FIAT JUSTITIA, COASTAL ART" ("Let Justice be Enforced, Though Heaven Will Fall") which has obligations and societal responsibilities to bring the role of a pioneer for the development and establishment of law in accordance with the direction and objectives of national law development
